In literacy, P1/2 have been working hard with their sounds and writing. We wrote recipes for Pancake Day, and read a story about a Big Pancake. For our reflective read, we read ‘Each Peach Pear Plum’ and completed activities based on the story.
For topic, we finished our part on Scotland by looking at Scottish foods. We made our own Scottish menu and role played a cafe. We were lucky enough to have a visitor from France who taught us about French food, so we were able to compare them to food we eat in Scotland! Moving forward, we are looking at different countries and have had some great inspiration from some of our Show and Tells last week!
We have been looking at ‘respect’ for health and well-being this month. We spoke about what respect means and drew pictures or wrote about how we can be respectful in different situations.
In maths, we finished our measurement unit and are focusing on patterns this week. We have started by looking at repeated shape patterns, and will begin to look at number patterns as we progress through the week.
Lastly, we have been learning about Fairtrade for ‘Fairtrade Fortnight’. We learned about how Fairtrade helps farmers and ensures equality. We also looked at the different things that are sold with the Fairtrade logo and we may be looking out for these on food shops and at home!
We will be back next week with another update! Enjoy our pictures!
