P1/2 have had a very busy term so far. We have worked hard on our tricky words and vowels. We made sentences independently using our tricky words, including ‘eat’ and ‘year’. In maths, we have been focusing on number formation and subtraction. We also learned how to round numbers to the nearest 10, using number squares to help us. We learned about Chinese New Year and also celebrated Burns Day. We created a collaborative piece of art which depicted Robert Burns, by colouring in one piece each then used our number knowledge to put the pictures in the right order to create our masterpiece! Some of us used oil pastels, some used paint, and some used pens or pencils. We love how unique and abstract it turned out! We also made menus for our own Burns Supper, making the ‘food’ out of play dough and role playing our supper.
