P6A Update

P6A have had a very busy few weeks for sure!  I hope the children have been sharing the activities we have been doing with you as they have been happening but, if not, please read the information below.

Last week, we saw one of our children visiting the Evening Express offices at Marischal Square to be a guest editor for the day.  He joined another child from Lochside Academy and was given the opportunity to write a piece on World Children’s Day and what it means to him.  He did the school proud and his article appeared in the Evening Express the day after.  Well done to him as he did a great job!  He was extremely confident when taking part in the daily Reporters’ Meeting and Editors’ Meeting.  He definitely got a real insight into what it means to be a reporter and editor for a newspaper.  The link to the online article is shown below:

Last week, all three P6 classes visited Lochside Academy to take part in rehearsals for the Evening Express Christmas Concert which is taking place on Wednesday 18th December 2019 at the newly refurbished Music Hall.  We were there with children from other schools across Aberdeenshire practising the songs that we will be singing on the night.  Again, for the second time in a week, we made it into the Evening Express.  Children will be coming home with a copy of the newspaper today just in case you missed the article about our rehearsal but if you would like another copy please let me know as we have spare copies in school.  Please see below the link to the online article:

This week will see the last of our Bikeability sessions for children in P6A.  We would like to thank the parents who have helped the children achieve their Level 2 Bikeability Certificate.  Next term will see the children in P6B and P6C starting their Bikeabiliity sessions so I wish them good luck with that!
