This week is Maths Week Scotland which means we will be celebrating all things Maths at Dyce Primary. Maths Week Scotland was launched at assembly and we had a great discussion about why Maths is so important throughout our daily lives.
We want to show our children how fun Maths can be so as a result, all classes will be taking part in the following:-
- An Art competition with a Maths twist.
- An outside Maths trail.
- Every class will have a special visitor who will be talking about their job and how Maths links with it/the importance of Maths.
- There will be a ‘Number of the Day’ within the corridor for classes to visit and think what the question could be (e.g. if the number is 10 the question could be 7+3).
We would love to hear from you at home so if you and your family want to share anything Maths related from home that you are doing, please share via our twitter (e.g baking or using the clock to time yourself while brushing your teeth).
