Outdoor Literacy P3A

We brought Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life today through outdoor literacy. We have just read all about Oompa Loompas and we are learning to pick out relevant, or important, information. We read that Oompa Loompas lived in tree houses and ate mushed up caterpillars and beetles. Today, our mission was to make miniature tree houses for tiny Oompa Loompas (bugs) to live in. We used anything we could find in the woods. Some of us used sticks for the roof covered with leaves so rain couldn’t get in. Others dug underground compartments (basements) in case their shelter was to get knocked down. Here are some pictures of our work.
