December in P6A

This month has been very busy so let us update you.

Let’s start with our panto! ‘Aladdin Trouble’ was a brilliant success and we enjoyed our performances! We were also treated to watching M&M productions performing ‘Cinderella’. We loved having them back. We have seen a few shows from this company and we really like the way they include familiar songs in their shows.

In Maths we have been learning about how to calculate durations of time. We have explored different strategies which will help us calculate accurately. We revisited the language of circles as we made cards this year. We needed to know the maximum diameter and then calculate the radius.

Our Christmas Jumper Day was a huge success. This was also our Christmas lunch day. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the ice-cream for pudding!

Our Heroes context is almost over. We have shared group presentation to share our learning. We made models, wrote explanations and talked in front of the class. This term ends with some work on materials. We started with solids, liquids and gases.

Finally, we have decided to make a donation to charity instead of receiving a Christmas gift. We discussed several charities including WWF and Cash for Kids. Mrs Ross and Mrs Dow have donated money to Social Bite- a charity supporting the homeless- on our behalf.

Have a wonderful holiday! Merry a Christmas and a Happy New Year!

See you in 2019!
