A busy week in P5A!

Hello again,

This week we continued to create models of houses. We completed our design for a traditional rural Rwandan house. We recorded our observations in a Venn diagram.

On Wednesday we had a lots of fun wearing odd socks to support World Down Syndrome Day. We practised our Makaton, watch a video using Makaton and spoke about what makes us unique.

We also had Miss Kelly and Miss Melville from Aberdeen University in class. They had created different money challenges for us to explore. We had the chance to plan a classroom or a day out, use the coin stampers and big foam coins.

On Thursday, three lucky boys were able to go along to Pittodrie Stadium for a tour.  a big thanks to Red Start for giving us this fantastic opportunity. It felt strange to be there without spectators. All the boys enjoyed seeing behind the scenes. Every pupil was given an Aberdeen AFC poster to take home.

Miss Hamilton has been teaching us African songs. We will be sharing these in our whole school sing-along next week. We really enjoy listening to all the other classes as we don’t usually hear what they learn each week. Our favourite song is called The Lion Sleeps Tonight which we sing in two parts.

We’ll update the blog again next week. Have a nice weekend!
