P1A have been learning about germs, and how they spread. We know that one way germs can spread between people is by touch, for example holding hands. We decided to do an experiment to see just how easily germs can spread!
We used glitter as ‘germs’. In pairs, we put glitter on our hands and shook hands with our partner. We were amazed at how much glitter went onto their hand!
While we were waiting for our turn to be scientists, we completed a worksheet. We used our cutting and sticking skills to put pictures in order, showing that we know how to wash our hands properly to stop our germs from spreading.
We enjoyed being scientists, and now understand why it is so important to keep clean and be hygienic!
